Greetings, gentlemen! This week, I’ve been trying out CK All by Calvin Klein, which is part of their well-known unisex line that originally kicked off with CK One. To clarify, this fragrance is meant to be enjoyed by “All,” not just men.

Launched in 2017 and crafted by Alberto Morillas and Harry Fremont, CK All is typically seen as a fresh, citrusy scent that’s incredibly light. Normally, I don’t lean towards fragrances like this, as I often find them to be bland and lacking character. However, I stumbled upon it unintentionally and thought, why not give it a go?

In previous reviews, I’ve talked about CK Eternity and CK Obsession. While I’m a fan of Eternity, Obsession is another story altogether. Let’s just say if you’re looking to channel the vibes of David Hasselhoff or Tom Selleck from the ’80s, you’ll probably love it.

Now, what’s the scoop on CK All? In this article, I’ll delve into whether this fragrance is worth adding to your collection and if it might suit your needs.

Appearance and Presentation

The bottle boasts a minimalist design that isn’t unattractive. If Apple were to branch out into fragrances, their bottles might look something like this. That said, it doesn’t have any standout features that would grab my attention.

For those who don’t know, this line consists of three main editions: CK All, CK One, and CK Be. The designs of all three are pretty similar, which makes it challenging to tell them apart.

Overall, while the appearance is decent, it doesn’t exactly impress.

Pricing

After recently reviewing a similar fragrance, Hugo Boss Unlimited, which was outrageously priced, I’m pleased to say that CK All offers a much more reasonable cost.

Think of it as a budget-friendly choice. While there are other fresh scents that may outperform it for a similar or even lower price, CK All still offers good value.

When it comes to getting the best deal, your best bet is almost always the discounters — especially when they’re running coupon codes. And the one that’s never let me down is FragranceX.

They ship worldwide, they only deal in authentic stock, and they’ve got a solid 30-day return policy, which keeps things risk-free.

Prices do move around (sometimes daily, especially during holiday sales), so it’s always worth checking the current deal. ?

The Notes

Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Grapefruit Blossom

Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rhubarb, Freesia, Lily

Base Notes: Musk, Amber, Vetiver

So, what can we anticipate from these notes?

The fragrance starts with bright citrus accords, with mandarin orange taking the lead. A sweet, creamy rhubarb note intertwines beautifully with floral aspects in the heart, finishing off with light, earthy undertones in the base.

Overall, it’s a sweet, citrusy fragrance that anyone can wear effortlessly. They’ve succeeded in crafting a natural, authentic feel reminiscent of fresh blooms. It’s not overwhelming or synthetic, which is definitely a plus.

That said, I wouldn’t personally wear this fragrance, as it feels a bit generic for my taste and carries a hint of that “mall scent” vibe. It’s clearly designed for the mass market, which often means it lacks uniqueness. You might say once you have smelled one, you have smelled them “All” (pun intended).

Now, if you’re looking for something distinctive to leave a mark, this isn’t the one for you. In terms of scent quality, it performs adequately, but it doesn’t shine. As a budget option, you essentially get what you pay for.

Performance

The performance of CK All is below average for an Eau de Toilette (EDT). I found it lasts around 45 minutes before turning into a skin scent, and after about an hour and a half, it ultimately fades away. This is quite disappointing.

Although people might catch a whiff of it, they’d need to be up close for it to be noticeable. It’s unfortunate, as it is a pleasant scent, and I would have preferred a longer-lasting experience.

When and Where to Wear It

CK All is fundamentally a casual daytime fragrance. You can wear it just about anywhere, anytime, without raising any eyebrows. However, as I always say, just because you can doesn’t always mean you should.

For example, I wouldn’t recommend it for formal events or evenings out, as there are far more appealing options available.

If you’d prefer to sample it first, these are my two favouriteand most reliable places to get authentic decants:

Compliments

Well, I didn’t receive a single compliment for this fragrance. Not even from the wife, who usually says something (probably because she feels obliged now).

I suspect that is because nobody could smell the damn thing due to its lack of performance. Annoying.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Good all-rounder
  • Casual daily wearer
  • Smells pleasant and non-synthetic
  • Reasonably priced

Cons

  • Poor performance
  • Generic and bland
  • Other similar fragrances are much better

Should You Buy It?

Given the price, scent, and versatility, it’s not a bad fragrance. However, the poor performance is a major drawback. Anything that lasts under an hour is a deal breaker for me, so I won’t be purchasing a full bottle on this occasion. In short, should you buy it? No.

If you’re on the lookout for a fresh, versatile fragrance like CK All, you might want to explore my other reviews on Lacoste White, Coach for Men, or Mr. Burberry, which I highly recommend.
