Today we’d like to introduce you to Sanemi Jain.
Hi Sanemi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story. Like many kids, I was signed up for violin classes at a young age without knowing anything about the instrument. What started as just another childhood activity slowly turned into something much bigger — a passion and eventually a business.
I was born and raised right here in Houston, Texas, where I was classically trained in Western violin. But outside of lessons, I found myself listening to my favorite songs and figuring out the melodies by ear. That blend of classical technique and love for Bollywood music has deeply shaped my musical style and approach. Growing up, I stayed connected to music through orchestra, solo performances, and experimenting on my own. But one of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been teaching. For the past seven years, I’ve taught private violin lessons independently, working with students of all ages. It’s been so rewarding to teach kids music and discover the art of playing violin, the same way I once did.
In college at the University of Texas at Austin (hook ’em!), I continued teaching violin but chose not to pursue music academically. Instead, I focused on earning my Business degree, which deepened my interest in entrepreneurship and confirmed my desire to build something of my own — something long-term and aligned with my passions. Along the way, I’ve been inspired by female entrepreneurs and creative CEOs who forged their own paths. From a young age, I knew I wanted to do the same — to create something meaningful and build a career rooted in purpose and creativity.
I’ve always been someone who’s drawn to challenge and seeking discomfort. To me, real growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone. You don’t need to have all the answers before you start — whether it’s posting that first video, launching a project, or stepping into a new role. Take the leap, and trust that you’ll figure it out as you go. That mindset has shaped so much of my journey and continues to keep me moving forward. More than anything, I want to be remembered as someone who made a difference — whether through music, teaching, or inspiring others to take a chance on themselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way? It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but I’ve learned to embrace the bumps along the way. Managing several different roles keeps me on my toes, but it’s incredibly rewarding.
Outside of the weddings and events space, I also work a full-time corporate IT role. Balancing both careers, along with teaching violin and building my own company, Sanemi Productions, from the ground up, definitely keeps me busy. I wear all the hats in my business — from creating content and managing social media, to producing my own sets, handling new inquiries and emails, coordinating logistics, and ultimately performing on event day. Most weekends, I’m working weddings, either performing as a violinist or behind the scenes as a coordinator with wedding planners.
Despite the commitments, I feel really grateful for every opportunity that comes my ways and to be doing work that challenges and fulfills me. Each role teaches me something different, and while it isn’t always easy, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see everything take shape and grow. As my business has grown especially with exposure on TikTok & Instagram, I’ve also had to learn how to manage the high flow of inquiries from clients — both domestically and internationally. It’s a good problem to have, but learning how to scale without losing the personal touch has taken thought and intention. Another aspect has been evolving from a classically trained violinist — where precision and structure are emphasized — to a more dynamic, improvisational style for live performances. Performing for weddings and events requires reading the energy of the room, adapting in real time, and creating a memorable experience that feels personal and engaging. That shift pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it helped me grow not only as a musician but as a person!
Thanks - so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on? I’m a South Asian violinist specializing in Bollywood music, performing at weddings, events, and any occasion where people are creating special memories with their loved ones. What I really love about what I do is the connection. I work closely with couples to add a unique, personal touch to their once-in-a-lifetime day or weekend. For me, it’s not just about playing a pretty melody — it’s about helping them tell their story through music. Whether it’s a ceremony entrance song they’ve dreamed of walking down the aisle to, or a first dance song that holds a couple’s special memory, or creating custom sets to welcome their guests, I take the time to understand the meaning behind their song choices and bring that emotion to life in my performance.
Artistically, my style blends Western classical training with Bollywood melodies, along with cinematic and contemporary influences. While Bollywood is my specialty, I also perform across many genres — from fusion arrangements to Pop, R&B, and more. My classical background provides me a strong technical foundation, but it’s my cultural roots that add a layer of depth and emotion to my musical interpretation. Having grown up immersed in Bollywood music and fluent in Hindi and Urdu, I’m able to engage with the lyrics and cultural context on a deeper level. That connection brings authenticity and heart to my performances and resonates deeply with the couples and families I work with.
Through my company, Sanemi Productions, I’ve been able to bring this vision to life — curating live performances rooted in culture, story, and emotion. At the heart of it, I want people to feel seen and celebrated through music, whether I’m playing a beloved classic or a custom arrangement. I love seeing the joy on people’s faces when a song they love is brought to life on the violin!
It’s a privilege to be part of someone’s most meaningful day, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to create moments of connection through music that stay with us long after the moment is over.
What’s next? As wedding season is in full swing, I’m currently accepting a few more bookings for this year and will begin booking for 2026 soon! If you’re interested in violin services for your wedding, from cocktail hour sets and custom ceremony entrances to personalized first dance songs, I’d be honored to be part of your special day. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing Sanemi Productions and taking on more weddings and events, both across the U.S. and internationally. I love to travel, and as an artist, there’s something incredibly rewarding about sharing music in new places — witnessing how it can transform the atmosphere and bring people together, no matter where I am. Beyond weddings and events, I’m also exploring opportunities to collaborate with other creatives and continue teaching. Whether I’m performing, producing, or mentoring, I’m focused on using music in ways that are meaningful and intentional — contributing to moments that feel personal, impactful, and deeply connected to each celebration.
