This is my first experience with Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Beauty.
High-end beauty brands are harder to find where I live, they mostly only have one or two stores in the whole country and no online shop available here in Malaysia.
I believe the only two places you can get YSL makeup in Malaysia are at the One Utama and Pavilion shopping centres in KL. Not very convenient.
I got mine in ION Orchard, Singapore. The beauty advisor there was great too.
YSL ALL HOURS Foundation
The ALL HOURS Foundation is their latest foundation that claims to be full coverage, have 24-hour wear and also skincare benefits.
This foundation has a pump and 25 ml of product. Yes, it’s lesser product than the usual 30 ml/1oz but you only need very little because of its high coverage.
But the star of the show here, really is the CC Cream. Let me first share with you my experience with the foundation.
Upon application, it feels really luxurious and different from a MAC foundation. It’s thick and gives a velvet-like finish. It is matte in a very natural, skin-like way.
It does have FULL coverage. It covers everything! Actually when you just put it on, you will not be able to find any flaws because it looks impeccable and so stunning on the skin. So smooth and perfect!

However….
As the hours go by, not many hours by the way, it creases along the smile lines and gets oily in the T-zone. This is about 4 hours after wear in quite a hot climate and with lots of talking but either way its lasting power is disappointing.
Although it gets oily, it doesn’t alter the coverage.
After trying it with different products, I was finally able to set it well and avoid the oiliness.
I used my Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch primer underneath, followed by the YSL Apricot CC Cream Primer, and then the foundation, lastly I set it with MAC’s Mineralize Foundation Powder (I left the powder on for a minute or two before I dusted it off).
I use this foundation in the shade B70 Mocha and the match to my NC45 skin is so so good. In fact, it’s a better match than NC45. The best any foundation has matched me.
You can make it work with some extra effort but given the price, I think it should be able to work better on its own.
The only way I can justify this expensive foundation is because of its stunning, full coverage finish and luxurious texture!
It was 98 SGD, I am not sure what it costs in Malaysia but its probably around RM 270.

YSL TOP SECRETS CC Cream Color Correcting Primer (Apricot)
Now, this is my FAVOURITE!
I tried it as a sample and completely fell in love!
Its a high-coverage colour corrector + primer to conceal dark spots and uneven skin tone.
It is THE ONLY thing you need under a foundation. No need for priming, concealing and colour correcting! It does everything for you and adds coverage to your foundation.
The colour is a peachy shade that is great for medium to deeper skin tones!
I really have nothing more to say because you have to try it to believe it. I actually got this sample from the KL YSL Boutique. The sample lasted me more than two months because you only need a little every time.
It is also thick but very easy to blend and not at all ashy.
It costs the same as the foundation, 98 SGD and worth every penny because I wouldn’t even dream of paying so much if it wasn’t really THE BEST!
I think I should add that I actually went to the store to get the YSL Touche Eclat Foundation but they didn’t have B70 at that time, I have tried that too and although it isn’t as full-coverage, it’s actually more light-buildable, it’s very beautiful and radiant on the skin.
Also, if you are a tourist in Singapore and returning back by flight, you will get a tax rebate for purchases above 150 SGD at YSL Beauty and a lifetime membership and some extra goodies too. Did I mention that the makeup artist removed all my makeup and reapplied it using all YSL products, from their serum to their Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow.
